WHAT IS FAIRHOPE FIVES?

Fairhope Fives program is designed to build upon the philosophy & skills first introduced to players and parents in our Fairhope Tots program, however a player is not required to participate in our Tots program in order to participate in our Fives program.  The goal of the program is to continue to develop the passion and love for the game of soccer at an early age.

WHAT TO EXPECT EACH SESSION?
  • Each session will last about 45 minutes.
  • Fives Head Coach will utilize US Soccer’s age appropriate soccer curriculum.  Our program uses fun games to develop motor skills, promote physical fitness, and self-confidence.
  • Players will train together and then be split into teams.  An assigned parent team/field leader will help manage/direct a team during games.
  • It is imperative for at least one parent/guardian to be present, and at times participating with their child during each session.
WHY ARE PARENTS ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE?
Parent education is a priority within our organization.
  • First, the child is more likely to participate and thrive in the environment if they see their parent/guardian playing.
  • Secondly, participation could inspire the parent to enjoy the game of soccer and become a member of our coaching community in the future years.

Please consider being a Parent Team/Field Leader when you register your player.  While we encourage all parents to be involved, we need at least 10 consistent volunteers to help out Head Coach Ali LeBlanc each week.

WHAT TO EXPECT AS A PARENT TEAM/FIELD LEADER? Coach Ali will oversee all fun activities & skills the kids will learn throughout the 7 sessions.

  • As team/field leader, we will assign a color.  You will stand by a goal with your color. Coach Ali will assign you a team.  Your responsibilities are to provide encouragement, make sure kids are going in the correct direction, not using their hands, encourage a skill they learned & have fun!  Some kids will cry, some will get mad, some may not even want to play.  Remember they are 4 year olds!!!

WHAT DOES MY PLAYER NEED?

A parent or guardian, size 3 ball, black shorts & socks, soccer cleats or tennis shoes and plenty of water.
