Fairhope Soccer is volunteer youth sports league that depends entirely on parent volunteer coaches like yourself. You don't have to be a 'Messi' to teach the game, just a willingness to work with kids, positive energy and a little time to do it. It's a great way to spend a little extra time with your children and have fun doing it. We ALWAYS need coaches.
Fairhope Soccer Club expectations our volunteer head coach:
As assistant volunteer coach:
If you want to co-coach with a friend, we will guarntee your players will be on the same team. If you can't find a friend to co-coach, we may have an assistant coach that signed up we may pair you with or if you just need someone to help with your communication, please ask during your intial parent/team meeting if any parent to help with your team communication.
We have pinnies, cones & goals on a first come, first serve basis We usually have enough equipment available. Each coach/assistant coach will receive a game day jersey.
GrassRoots Trainng Sessions
We introduced GrassRoots Training Sessions with Will Cunningham, FSC Recreation Technical Coordinator this past Fall 2018.
Each Tuesday for U10 & U12 @ 6:45pm & Wednesday for U6 & U8 @ 5pm this spring season, you can sign up for a GrassRoots Training Session. Think of this as an easy practice for you and even if you whole team can't attend, you as a coach can come out to watch Coach Will conduct play-practice-play session.
We highly encourage all coaches to attend at least one session. Training sessions will be based on US Soccer’s Grassroots movement “play practice play” built practice sessions.
This program will make for a great opportunity for all to learn the grassroots play practice play philosophies, develop and learn new ways and ideas to enhance training for our players, free up a night of planning a session, and ultimately grow as coaches. In a peer environment, we always pick up different ways to make coaching points or setup activities. This opportunity will provide plenty of opportunities for this to happen.
